Following are summaries of the procedures in place throughout the district for reporting and investigating alleged incidents of bullying. The procedures throughout the district are in line with requirements in the Dignity Act. For more details, or if you suspect incidents of harassment or bullying, please reach out to the respective buildings.

North Hornell, Bryant and Intermediate Schools Procedures:

- Incident is reported to an adult at the school

- Adult reports to Principal and/or Counselor

- If deemed necessary (discrimination, harassment or bullying) the adult fills out the referral and is sent to the building administrator

- Parents are notified

- Incident is investigated

- If appropriate, consequences are assigned and the student is referred to a counselor

Junior and Senior High School Procedures:

Any student, parent, staff member or community member is encouraged to report incidents of harassment, discrimination or bullying by completing the Notice of Concern found in the 7-9 office, 10-12 office and Guidance office. An administrator investigates any reports within 48 hours of receiving the form. When incidents are founded, follow-up is completed with individual students by guidance staff, who complete and submit the follow-up forms to the respective office. Also, parents are notified by an administrator and a referral is sent home if the case results in a disciplinary consequence.
