"Graduates of Note" Nomination Form

"HHS Graduates of Note"
The Performing Arts


Purpose: To create an area where alumni of Hornell High School, who have distinguished themselves in the performing arts field, will be honored.


Location: The 'house right' wall in the auditorium near the stage.


Honors: A plaque with the person's photo and engraved with their name, year of graduation and reasons for nomination and acceptance.


Honorees: will be nominated by committee (currently music department members) and agreed upon by a consensus of the group. No more than three nominees per year will be honored. Persons can be nominated for the following;


Procedure: Committee or community members will nominate candidates by filling out a nomination form and submitting it through the music department chairperson. The chair will bring all forms to the music department for review at the October department meeting. The Chair will file any form not accepted for that year to be reviewed the following year(s).

Discussion and further review will take place at the November meeting at which time nominees can be agreed upon on or tabled for further discussion with selection taking place at the December meeting. If no candidates can be agreed upon at the December meeting, no nominees will be elected to the "Wall" that year.


Presentation: Elected candidates will be placed on the "Wall" at one of the spring concerts, or spring musical performance, as decided on by the Music Department.

If possible, the elected candidate will be invited to attend the ceremony in person. If the elected candidate is not available a proper representative can be asked to be present (i.e.; a spouse or son/daughter).
